Greetings
It is the end of an era, the Black Templars are no more as a separate faction in 40k. Now is the time of Smurfing. Maybe they will come back one day, but given how GW operates, I'd give long odds against it. It is a time of rebuilding and reorienting, not in the manner of those who somehow think that no matter what GW does to FUBAR stuff, they can in (to put it most politely) Pollyanna fashion "Templar On". I am not so masochistic as that, even though I did start with Black Templars when they were at their lowest point prior to the beginning of the end with the release of 6th.
So, I cannot be a Black Templar on the table, then I'm through with 40k until I can be one again. I could go Necron, GW bungled the opportunities there, but ever since I started down the Templar path, the only temptation still remaining that was serious was Sisters.
Since the challenge is to now find a new game to play on the tabletop that I'd enjoy, I accept it. Going to work first on Dust Tactics because while I don't have all of the released models, I've got most of them I've slowly accumulated over the past few years. I can field lists from all three current factions, actually enough to be able to run a small one day tournament with ~8 players. The second will be Dropzone Commander, which is relatively cheap to get into, but still a bit pricey for me pick up extra factions. Although if I do go that way, I'll be ordering a PHR Mega Army from Hawk and it's only another $100 for the two player Starter set.
I'll be tracking my progress over on the Blog Page.
If you still want a more centralized spot for Codex: Space Marines tactics and discussions using the Black Templar chapter tactics, check out Implausible Nature, Marshal Laeroth's website.
