...in list planning. After a few more games, I can state that my list and the minor variations of it are brutal in the dakka department. It also works quite well in the grabbing objectives department.

NOTE 1: The Sentinel is a throw away placeholder. I was sitting there with 79 points left over, couldn't make up my mind and I just happened to have this model that came as part of a lot I'd picked up on Ebay, so.... In any case, I'm a bit surprised by how well the little sucker has performed (including in CC, where it is AV12 all the time), but not enough to keep it. It does tempt me to want to squeeze in the old TLLC/HF Dread though.
NOTE 2: I've played a couple of odd point games (1900 & 2000) where I just added the Imperial Defense Line (by itself) and some bling in the 2k game. I'm mixed on it. Those games my HWS did better, but it takes careful use or it ends up cramping my mobility.

The most absolutely worthless model in the entire list is...the Emperor's Champion with Abhor The Witch. Leave alone that I fully expect MVB to keep the stupidity from the last NOVA FAQ of forcing BT allied detachments to not be able to use the EC alone as their HQ choice, I also fully expect the non RAW ruling on ICs attached to allied squads and transports to survive. Both of which crap on the EC as a choice even harder, even if I wanted to run one of the lists with a large foot component, like a mob of Conscripts with Ld10, ATSKNF and Fearless in CC, which could be fun and about the best use for the EC available at a reasonable points cost.
The major weakness I see in the list above is a lack of CC ability. Sure, I have plenty I can throw into stuff, and the THDC squad is no slouch in CC, it doesn't really shine, it just kind of says it will give a few lumps out as it dies to something dedicated to CC.
However, what has been jingling in my brain as I watch my THDC squad lurch forward after every casualty (which means I'm going to be getting into CC in a number of games, or at least in RF range) is that if I just dump the "need" for the EC, then I could go with a Castellan in TDA w/ PA/SS leading a THDC Term Command Squad (Sgt w/ SB/PA/SS, yes, he can do that) and save 15 points. No, not so great, but two models with 3++ is a lot better than what I have now.
