EDIT: Okay, good idea to try to get stuff down when exhausted before you forget.  BAD IDEA to hit Publish button instead of Save to Drafts Button.  Added a drawing.

Picture
Here is a drawing that may help relate to the text below.  The bottom is my side of the board.  The positions are at the start of the game.

This was a serious "winner is the last one to make a mistake" type of game.  We rolled short end deployment, the Warlord skills were irrelevant (we both forgot them, which hurt me more than him I think, I had reroll '1's when shooting at anyone within 3" of an objective), then Scouring for the mission (FA scoring mission).

He was going first, and had placed his three objectives in or near his deployment zone, I placed my three in the middle ground.  When we flipped them, he had a 2 & 3 in cover already held, a 3 to my right in area terrain.  I had a 2 that was 12" closer to me on the right, the 4 close to the middle of the board in a patch of forest and the 1 on my left in another bit of woods.  I had already decided to be aggressive since his side was encouraging turtling.  I set up heavy right, with the big Warrior squad there, Ghost Ark (w/ 5 NW), Command Barge, Spyder & Scarabs behind them and the two Immortal squads to their left in the center right.  Annihilation Barges to their left, in center.

Setup mistake  for me because I didn't use the little patch of woods behind the Warrior squad and the Scarabs (who ignore it) should have been there to reduce congestion on my far right.  I didn't seize, no Night Fighting was rolled and then I forgot to use my Solar Pulse (DOH!)  Ended up costing me both my Annihilation Barges and one of each Immortal.  Then I failed, partly because of the congestion to move up quickly enough with Scarabs and Command Barge.  He had surged two GH squads forward to seize the 3 pointer on my right.  After that, it became a grinding match with him punching out my Ghost Ark on turn three and my Command Barge on turn five.  I had my Gauss Immortals holding the 4 point objective and the remnant Tesla Immortals holding the 2 pointer on my right.  I ended up in a CC with his two remnant squads in area terrain to my right with the 3 point objective with my Overlord (Warlord) while the Scarabs & Barge Overlord swept down the edge of the board to hit the Leman Russes.  After killing the LRs, they turned on one of the Long Fang squads that might contest that 3 point objective.  Combined I ended up clearing those squads and seizing the objective with no way for him to contest.

Potential Problem:  I actually killed the Leman Russes using the Hammer of Wrath attack on the front/flank but they resolved vs the rear armor...Doesn't seem right, but we didn't spot anything in the rules denying it.

My flyers didn't come on until turn three (double "1"s on turn two), they did plenty of damage, shooting up one squad he was trying to get some shots at my Immortals with, causing some mayhem with the Tesla arc (including zapping myself once for no effect), putting holes in various squads and routing the IG vets off the board (which lost him a scoring unit on a 2 point objective).

Issue:  We need to watch it with flyers.  After two turns of shooting and doing good, they spent the rest of the game desperately tacking back and forth trying to stay on the board and getting no further shots.

For excitement at the end of the game, on turn five he teleported the  last intact (-1model) GH squad by the 4 point objective in contesting range.  On turn six, after we had exchanged fire and taken a few casualties, he charged in and swept the Gauss Immortals.  The Cryptek was already down, so he got to make his EL roll.  Then I assaulted & charged with the Tesla Immortals squad remnants (1xNL, 1xCryptek, !xNI) plus the other Cryptek and his Rune Priest happily dispatched them with his power sword.  Now it got to be fun, because I popped up the Lord in contesting range.

Scoring:   First Blood: SW; Line Breaker: Necrons, Kill Warlord: Necrons
Objectives: 1 pointer: -  2 pointers: - & Necrons  3 pointers: SW & Necrons  4 pointer: Contested at game end.
Final: 7-4

At the end, I'm happy with the way the list worked, despite the mistakes.
