Well, I did manage to finish with the red paint, did a bit of touch up (I know, I'm not supposed to, but some stuff was bothering me) and was heading into the blue detail work. Then I got distracted.
I made an order with wargamesfactory.com before Christmas that was delayed, but supposed to be mailed out by the end of last week. This new company has been plagued of late with "bad luck" of various sorts. Delayed shipments, shipments being on the wrong ship, incorrect orders being sent, import paperwork messed up so US Customs held up cargoes and the winter weather delaying things didn't help either. It came to light today that it appears that their sales director, who use to work for GW might have been colluding with the US rep for the Chinese miniature manufacturer to set up a hostile takeover. Which means this string of "bad luck", probably under the cover of "bad communications" more than likely stretched the company funds down to low and made them vulnerable. If the rumors are true and there is growing circumstantial evidence they are.
Interestingly enough, there were supposed "ISP" server problems that cut off their emails and ability to update their website, but the founders of the company were busting arse trying to get their two new releases packed and out the door. Which means my son, who was promised some little plastic soldiers like Daddy's (but his were Vikings!) he could paint for Christmas had to do without. Then he still had to do without for his birthday.
So if true, these guys just committed fraud and messed with my son. Fortunately, I got some phone numbers I'll be calling in the morning.
