I'm gong to base this on my last, untried BT 2000 point list which was mechanized and details can be found here:

Now, what to change and do we need allied IG for their (IMO) useful Hydras?
Well, first things first, lets pull three of those Speeders. Nice firepower, but points have to come from somewhere for the extra HQ GW has mandated we buy. Given we need a leader, I'm going to go with a Reclusiarch for price and to save points overall, swap one of the elite THDC squads for a THDC command squad and lose the chainfist off the other THDC. Then swap the EC's Vow from AACNMTO to ATW.

Now this is a workable core list. Using the leftover 185 points plus the ability to treat the Vindicator as a "throw away" or recoup 316 points from halving the Rhino squads, there is plenty of customization to build around an EC-Witch, Reclusiarch, 2x DC Terminator squads, 3x Typhoon Speeders.

Following my logic in the post about the original list, the idea that Typhoon Speeders -20 points, Rhinos +18 points balances, this is even a better base, since we have balanced the savings with the costs in our favor. In fact, I think this represents a solid base to build a Black Templar list on for 6th Edition.
